Ceiling Panels in Delhi NCR — PVC & Decorative Ceilings

A false ceiling without the POP mess. Conceals wiring, pipework and an uneven slab, goes up dry in a day or two — and a panel lifts out when you need to get back in.

No wet work  |  Serviceable  |  Supplied & installed across Delhi NCR

Ceiling panels are boards fixed to a light framework below the slab. They improve interior aesthetics, conceal wiring and structural imperfections, are durable and long-lasting, need almost no maintenance, and suit both residential and commercial interiors. They also go up dry — no plaster, no curing, no week of dust. The choice is between two families, and it comes down to one thing: is the ceiling damp, or is it meant to be looked at?

The Two Families

PVC Ceiling Panels

Lightweight, waterproof and highly durable. Termite-proof, wipe-clean, and completely unbothered by steam or humidity — which is why they have largely replaced POP in bathrooms and kitchens.

For: bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, washrooms, utility areas, and any ceiling under a slab that has ever leaked.

Decorative Ceiling Panels

Fluted and louvered WPC and charcoal panels, and 3D relief profiles. Real texture and shadow overhead rather than a flat white plane — the ceiling equivalent of a feature wall.

For: living rooms, dining areas, reception spaces, restaurants and hotels. Dry rooms only.

Detailed specifications for the PVC range — sizes, thicknesses, finishes and framework — are on the PVC ceiling panels page. For the same materials used on walls, see decorative panels.

Honest summary: for bathrooms, kitchens, balconies and anything under a leak-prone slab, panels are the better engineering answer and it is not close. For a formal living room with a multi-level cove-lit design, POP still looks better. Many homes use both — POP in the living areas, PVC in the wet rooms.

About the Insulation Claim

A panel ceiling reduces echo and gives a small thermal benefit from the air gap. It is not insulation. It will not keep a Delhi summer out, and it will not stop footsteps from the flat above — that needs insulation material laid in the void, or mass and isolation, which is a different job with a different cost. Plenty of suppliers claim otherwise. If thermal or acoustic performance is your actual objective, say so and we will quote the void treatment separately rather than let the ceiling take credit it has not earned.

What a Panel Ceiling Does Well

  • Conceals wiring, pipework and structural imperfections — usually the real reason a ceiling goes up at all
  • Improves interior aesthetics — a flat, clean plane instead of a patchy slab, or genuine texture if you go decorative
  • Durable and long-lasting — ten to fifteen years indoors is normal
  • Low maintenance — a damp cloth. No repainting, ever
  • Reduces echo — a room with hard surfaces sounds calmer and speech is clearer
  • Serviceable — a panel lifts out to reach a pipe or a junction box; POP has to be cut open and patched
  • Suits residential and commercial interiors — and modern, contemporary and minimalist schemes in particular

Planning a Ceiling — In Order

  1. Check for leaks first. If water is coming through the slab, deal with it before anything else. A ceiling hides a leak; it does not fix one
  2. Measure your head height. A ceiling costs you 2–4 inches, more for a grid. In a flat with 9-foot ceilings that is fine; in one with 8-foot ceilings, think carefully
  3. Decide the lighting before the framework. Downlight positions determine how the battens are set out. Changing your mind later means opening the ceiling
  4. Fan support is separate. A ceiling fan anchors to the slab or a braced support, never to the panels or the light framework
  5. Pick the family by room. Damp means PVC. A ceiling meant to be admired means decorative
  6. Metal framework in wet rooms. Timber battens in a bathroom void are a long-term problem, however good the panels are

What Determines the Price

  • Which family — PVC is the budget end; decorative WPC and charcoal cost considerably more
  • Panel thickness and grade — thicker panels stay flatter across a span and sag less over time
  • Framework — metal costs more than timber, and is the right call in any damp room
  • Slab condition — an uneven slab needs more framework to level the ceiling
  • Lighting cut-outs — each downlight is set-out, cutting and wiring time
  • Room shape — beams, columns, ducts and odd corners all slow the job
  • Finish — wood, marble and metallic finishes cost more than plain matt
Where to spend: the framework, especially in a bathroom — metal over timber — and panel thickness. Both are invisible once the ceiling is up and both decide whether it still looks flat in year five. Where to save: finish, in rooms nobody stands and studies.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much ceiling height does a panel ceiling take?
Usually around 2 to 4 inches for a panel ceiling fixed to battens, which is generally less than POP needs — and that matters in a flat with limited head height. A suspended grid ceiling takes more, often 4 to 8 inches, because the tiles hang below the framework. If lights are being recessed, allow for the depth of the fitting as well. Decide on the lighting before the framework goes up, not after, because moving a light afterwards means opening the ceiling again.
Do ceiling panels really insulate?
Not in any measurable sense, and it is worth being straight about this. The air gap between the panels and the slab gives a small thermal benefit, and the panel surface reduces echo within the room so it sounds calmer. What panels will not do is keep heat out in a Delhi summer or stop noise coming from the flat above — that needs insulation material laid in the void, or mass and isolation, which is a different job. If insulation is the real objective, tell us and we will quote the void treatment separately.
PVC or decorative ceiling panels — which should I choose?
PVC for anywhere damp — bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, washrooms — because it is unaffected by moisture and wipes clean. Decorative panels, typically fluted or louvered WPC and charcoal, are for dry rooms where the ceiling is meant to be noticed: living rooms, reception areas, restaurants. Cost and cleanability favour PVC; appearance favours decorative. Plenty of homes use both — PVC in the wet rooms, decorative over a living or dining area.
Can a panel ceiling be fitted in a bathroom?
Bathrooms are the best application for a PVC panel ceiling. Steam and humidity destroy POP and plasterboard over time — staining first, then bubbling, then crumbling — while PVC is unaffected and wipes clean. Panels also conceal the pipework and wiring that usually crosses a bathroom slab. Use a metal framework rather than timber in a wet room, and keep the extractor working, because ventilation still matters for the room even when the ceiling does not mind moisture.
What if there is a leak above the ceiling?
Fix it first. A false ceiling hides a leak, it does not repair one — and water that used to show as a stain will instead collect out of sight above the panels, doing damage nobody notices until the framework corrodes or the ceiling sags. If we find evidence of an active leak at the survey we will say so and recommend dealing with the source before anything goes up. It is the single most common reason a ceiling job goes wrong later.
Can lights and fans be fitted into a panel ceiling?
Yes. Panels cut easily, so recessed downlights, spotlights and cove lighting are all straightforward, and the framework is set out to suit the light positions. Ceiling fans are different: a fan must be anchored to the slab or to a properly braced support, never to the panels or the light framework, because the panels are not structural. Use LED fittings rather than halogen, since halogen runs hot enough to discolour PVC around the cut-out over time.
Do you supply and install ceiling panels across Delhi NCR?
Yes — homes, offices, retail, hotels, restaurants and healthcare facilities across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad from our Noida and Faridabad locations. We check the slab and the available head height before quoting, and we plan the lighting layout with you before the framework goes up. A normal room is finished in a day or two with no wet work.

Get the Ceiling Planned Properly

Tell us the room and roughly the area. We'll check the slab and head height, plan the lighting cut-outs before the framework goes up, and tell you honestly if there is a leak to deal with first.

Products, materials, sizes and height allowances described here are the options commonly available in the Indian market and are general guidance, not a stock list or quotation. Height taken by the ceiling depends on the framework and slab level and can only be confirmed on site. Thermal and acoustic benefit is limited to the air gap and reduced in-room reflection; panels are not insulation and do not provide sound insulation between floors. No fire rating is claimed — refer to the manufacturer's datasheet. A false ceiling conceals a leak; it does not repair one.
