Foot Mats in Delhi NCR — Entrance, Rubber & Anti-Skid

The cheapest thing you can buy to protect an expensive floor. The catch is that one small mat at the door does almost nothing — and here is why.

From ₹20/sq ft  |  Made to size  |  Bulk & project supply across Delhi NCR

Almost everything that wears out a floor walks in through the front door. Grit is an abrasive: ground underfoot by the next hundred people, it does more damage to vinyl, carpet and stone than years of ordinary use. Matting is the cheapest defence there is — but only if it is long enough to work. A person needs several full steps on matting before their shoes are actually clean, and most entrances give them one.

The Four Types

Entrance & Door Mats

The first line of defence. Coir, rubber-backed nylon and polypropylene constructions that scrape grit and absorb water before either reaches your floor. Stock sizes or made to measure.

Rubber Foot Mats

Outdoor and industrial workhorses. Handle water, oil and heavy traffic, lie flat without curling, and wash down with a hose. Ribbed, studded and perforated patterns for different jobs.

Anti-Skid Floor Mats

Grip where water and spills make a smooth floor dangerous — kitchens, washrooms, workshops, wet processing areas. Drainage-through patterns so water passes rather than pooling on top.

Commercial & Industrial Mats

Heavy-duty matting for factories, warehouses and high-footfall entrances. Includes anti-fatigue matting for standing workstations and modular tile systems that can be replaced section by section.

The Bit Nobody Explains: Matting Works in Stages

Dirt removal is a three-stage process, and no single material does all three. This is why one mat at the door disappoints:

StageWhereJobMaterial
1. Scraper Outside the door Knock off heavy grit, mud and stones Coarse rubber, coir, grating
2. Absorber At the threshold Take up water — a wet shoe keeps depositing dirt Nylon or polypropylene pile
3. Interior Inside, in the walking line Catch the fine residue the first two missed Fine pile, low profile
Walked length is what matters, not door width. Two to three metres of matting in the direction of travel is the working minimum for a commercial entrance; four to six metres is right for a busy one. A 60 cm mat at a shop door catches roughly one footfall in six — the other five carry grit straight onto the floor you just paid to install. In a home, the largest mat the space allows is simply the correct answer.

Monsoon: When Matting Earns Its Money

Plan matting for the wettest fortnight of the year, not for a dry Tuesday. In monsoon, water is the problem rather than grit — a saturated mat stops absorbing and starts spreading what it holds, and the floor just inside the door becomes the most dangerous surface in the building. Practical measures: double the matting length, add a scraper stage outside, keep spare mats so wet ones can be swapped and dried, and mop the floor under the mats as well as around them.

What Determines the Price

  • Material — coir at the bottom, aluminium-framed systems at the top
  • Thickness and pile weight — heavier matting absorbs more and lasts longer
  • Size — made to measure costs more than a stock size, and length is what makes matting work
  • Edging — bevelled or ramped edges add cost and reduce trip risk
  • Installation — loose-laid is free; a recessed matwell needs building work
  • Quantity — bulk and project pricing for facilities requirements

Our foot mats start from ₹20 per sq ft — an entry rate for standard material, not a price for a specified matting system.

Where to spend: length. A longer run of mid-grade matting outperforms a short piece of premium matting every time, because the limiting factor is how many steps a person takes on it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big should an entrance mat be?
Bigger than almost everyone buys. The rule that matters is walked length, not door width: a person needs several full steps on matting before their shoes are actually clean. Two to three metres of matting in the direction of travel is the working minimum for a commercial entrance, and four to six is better for a busy one. A small mat at a shop door catches one footfall out of six and the remaining five carry grit straight onto your floor. In a home, the largest mat that fits the space is the right answer.
Why does a single mat at the door not work?
Because dirt removal happens in stages and no one material does all three. Outside you need a coarse scraper to knock off heavy grit and mud. At the threshold you need an absorbent stage to take up water, because a wet shoe keeps depositing dirt long after the solids are gone. Inside you need a finer mat to catch the residue. Put one mat down and it gets overwhelmed within days — saturated with water it stops absorbing and starts redistributing what it holds.
Which mat material should I choose?
Coir for a covered domestic doorstep — it scrapes well and looks right, but it sheds and it rots if it stays wet. Rubber for outdoor and industrial use, where it handles water, oil and heavy traffic and washes down with a hose. Nylon or polypropylene for interior absorbent matting, which is what actually removes water. PVC-Z or cushion matting for wet areas and standing workstations. Aluminium-frame or modular tile systems for large commercial entrances that need to last a decade.
Do anti-skid mats really prevent falls?
They reduce the risk substantially in the places where falls actually happen — wet kitchen floors, washroom entrances, workshop areas, the first few metres inside a doorway during monsoon. What they cannot do is make a genuinely dangerous floor safe, and a mat that curls at the edges or slides on the floor becomes a trip hazard in its own right, which is worse than no mat. Choose one with a weighted or gripped backing sized to the area, and replace it once the edges start lifting.
How do you clean foot mats?
Rubber and PVC mats hose down and can be scrubbed — lift them, wash both the mat and the floor beneath it, and let both dry before putting the mat back. Nylon and polypropylene entrance matting is vacuumed regularly and deep cleaned periodically. The step most people miss is the floor under the mat, which collects everything the mat has trapped, and a mat put back over a damp floor traps moisture against the surface.
How much do foot mats cost?
Our foot mats start from ₹20 per sq ft, which is an entry rate for standard material rather than a price for a specified matting system. What moves it is material, thickness and pile weight, whether the mat is a stock size or made to measure, edging, and whether you need a framed or recessed installation at a commercial entrance. For bulk and project requirements we quote per requirement.
Do you supply foot mats in bulk across Delhi NCR?
Yes — homes, offices and corporate buildings, retail, hospitals and clinics, schools and factories across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad from our Noida and Faridabad locations. We supply single mats and full matting systems, made to size where needed, with bulk and repeat supply for facilities teams that need consistent replacements.

Tell Us About the Doorway

Send the door width, how far inside you can run matting, and roughly the footfall. We'll specify the stages and the length that will actually keep dirt off your floor — and quote stock sizes against made-to-measure.

Materials, formats, thicknesses and sizes described here are the options commonly available in the Indian market and are general guidance, not a stock list or quotation. The ₹20 per sq ft figure is our published starting rate for standard material. Matting reduces the dirt and water reaching a floor and the risk of slipping; it does not eliminate either, and a curled or sliding mat is itself a hazard. Slip performance depends on the specific product supplied — refer to the manufacturer's datasheet.
