Carpets & Carpet Tiles in Delhi NCR

The only flooring that genuinely absorbs sound. Wall-to-wall for comfort, modular tiles for anywhere a spill would otherwise mean relaying the room.

Carpet does two things no hard floor can: it absorbs sound within a room, and it is genuinely soft underfoot. That is why open-plan offices keep coming back to it and why bedrooms still get carpeted in flats that are tiled everywhere else. What separates a carpet that still looks right in eight years from one that mats down in two is not colour or pattern — it is face weight, pile density and backing, three numbers nobody puts on a showroom label.

The Four Types

Wall-to-Wall Carpet

Broadloom fitted edge to edge with no visible joints. The most comfortable and the most seamless-looking, and usually cheaper per square foot in a simple rectangular room. Best in bedrooms, hotel rooms and cabins.

Carpet Tiles

Modular squares laid loose or tackified. A damaged tile lifts out and is swapped in minutes — keep spares from the same batch. Best in offices, high-traffic areas and anywhere spills are likely.

Office Carpet Flooring

Commercial grades built for footfall and for acoustics in open-plan floors. Usually modular, usually installed out of hours so the office keeps working.

Commercial & Hospitality

Hotels, conference rooms, auditoriums and retail. Heavier constructions, often patterned to disguise traffic marking, and specified for repeated deep cleaning.

By room: home carpets for bedrooms and living rooms · office carpets for workspaces. Design collections are on the home carpets page.

How to Read a Carpet Spec

Three figures decide how a carpet performs. None of them are visible when you look at a sample, and all three are worth asking for in writing:

SpecWhat It MeansWhy It Matters
Face weight (GSM) Grams of yarn per square metre The best single predictor of wear. More yarn, longer life
Pile density How tightly the yarn is packed Press your thumb in — fast spring-back means it will resist crushing
Backing The layer holding it together Decides dimensional stability — what stops rippling a year later
Pile type Loop, cut or a combination Loop wears best in traffic; cut pile feels softer and looks richer
Fibre Nylon, polypropylene, polyester, wool Nylon recovers best under traffic; polypropylene resists stains and costs less
Two carpets that look and feel identical in a showroom can have very different face weights. The lighter one will mat down in the walkways within a couple of years while the heavier one still looks new. You cannot see the difference in a 30 cm sample, and the price often does not reveal it either. If a supplier cannot tell you the GSM, they either do not know or would rather you did not.

Loop or Cut Pile?

Loop Pile

Yarn left as uncut loops. Harder wearing, resists crushing in walkways, and hides traffic marking well. Slightly firmer underfoot. The default for offices, corridors and commercial floors.

Cut Pile

Loops cut to leave upright tufts. Softer, richer looking, and it takes colour beautifully. Shows footprints and vacuum marks, and crushes faster in heavy traffic. The right choice for bedrooms and hotel rooms.

Keeping Carpet Looking New

  • An entrance mat is the best carpet investment you can make — most of what wears carpet down is grit walked in from outside. See entrance mats
  • Vacuum the walkways more than the rest — that is where matting starts
  • Blot spills, never rub — rubbing pushes the stain into the pile and damages the fibre
  • Rotate carpet tiles — swap worn walkway tiles with ones from under furniture and the floor evens out
  • Deep clean periodically — annually at home, more often in commercial traffic

What Determines the Price

  • Face weight and pile density — the biggest driver, and the one that decides lifespan
  • Fibre — wool and premium nylon at the top, polypropylene at the value end
  • Format — tiles cost more per square foot than broadloom but waste far less on an awkward layout
  • Backing — cushion-backed and dimensionally stable backings cost more and last longer
  • Underlay and gripper — needed for stretched broadloom, not for tiles
  • Subfloor preparation — carpet shows every lump underneath it
  • Area and layout — rate per sq ft falls on larger jobs; awkward shapes waste broadloom
Where to spend: face weight in the walkways. Where to save: put a lighter grade in the bedrooms and a heavier one in the corridor, rather than a mid-grade everywhere — the corridor is what people see wearing out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Carpet tiles or wall-to-wall — which is better?
Tiles for anywhere that gets hard use, wall-to-wall for anywhere that gets looked at. A damaged carpet tile is lifted and swapped in minutes, so a coffee spill in an office costs one tile instead of a relay — and you can keep spares from the same batch. Wall-to-wall has no visible joints, feels more luxurious underfoot and works out cheaper per square foot in a simple rectangular room. Offices and high-traffic commercial almost always want tiles; bedrooms and hotel rooms usually want wall-to-wall.
How do I judge carpet quality?
Three numbers, none of which are on a showroom label unless you ask. Face weight, in grams per square metre, is how much yarn is actually there — the single best predictor of how it wears. Pile density is how tightly that yarn is packed; press your thumb in and see how fast it springs back. And the backing decides dimensional stability, which is what stops a carpet rippling a year later. Colour and pattern tell you nothing about durability. Ask for the face weight in writing.
Does carpet really reduce noise?
Yes, and it is the one thing no hard floor can match. Carpet absorbs sound within the room rather than reflecting it, so speech is clearer and an open-plan office stops feeling exhausting by mid-afternoon. It also cuts impact noise — footsteps transmitted to the floor below — which matters in apartments. It will not stop noise coming through a wall, but for in-room acoustics it is the most effective flooring you can specify.
Is carpet practical in Indian conditions?
In dry, air-conditioned interiors, yes — offices, hotels, bedrooms and conference rooms all work well. Where it struggles is high humidity without ventilation, ground-floor rooms with rising damp, and anywhere that gets genuinely wet. Kitchens and bathrooms are a firm no. Dust is manageable with regular vacuuming, and a good entrance mat at the door does more to keep carpet clean than anything else you can buy.
How long does carpet last?
Seven to twelve years is typical when the grade matches the traffic. A domestic-weight carpet in an office corridor may look tired in two, while a commercial-grade tile in a bedroom will outlast the decor. What ends a carpet is usually matting and crushing in the walkways rather than actual wear-through, which is why the traffic rating matters more than the price. Tiles extend effective life considerably because worn ones can be rotated or replaced individually.
How much does carpet cost?
Our carpets start from ₹10 per sq ft, which is a genuine entry rate for economy material rather than a finished laid price. The drivers are face weight and pile density, fibre type, backing, and whether you are buying broadloom or modular tiles. Underlay, gripper, subfloor preparation and fitting are separate. As with all flooring, subfloor preparation is the item most often missing from a cheap quote.
Do you supply and install carpets across Delhi NCR?
Yes — homes, corporate offices and IT spaces, hotels, conference rooms, auditoriums, schools and retail across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad from our Noida and Faridabad locations. Free on-site measurement, and commercial installations are usually scheduled out of hours or over a weekend so you do not lose working days.

Get the Grade Right for the Traffic

Tell us the rooms, roughly the area and how busy the space is. We'll recommend format and face weight for the actual use, measure free of charge, and quote material and fitting separately.

Constructions, fibres, formats and sizes described here are the options commonly available in the Indian market and are general guidance, not a stock list or quotation. The ₹10 per sq ft figure is our published starting rate for economy material and is not a finished laid price. Wear performance depends on the specific product supplied and on matching the grade to the traffic — refer to the manufacturer's datasheet. Subfloor condition can only be assessed on site.
