If the wall is damp, none of this is the answer yet. Fix the source of the moisture first. Covering a damp wall moves the problem somewhere you cannot see it, where it does more damage before you find out. We would rather tell you that at the survey than sell you a finish that fails.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wallpaper, wall panels or paint — how do I choose?

Start with what is wrong with the wall rather than with what you like the look of. If the wall is damaged, uneven or damp, panels are the only option that hides it completely. If the wall is sound and you want pattern across a whole room affordably, wallpaper. If the wall is sound and you want the cheapest refresh, paint. Cost runs paint, then wallpaper, then panels; durability runs the other way. Most projects mix all three — panels on one feature wall, wallpaper or paint elsewhere.

What works on a damp wall?

Fix the damp first — nothing survives a wet wall, and covering it just moves the problem out of sight where it does more damage. Once the source is dealt with and the wall has dried, PVC wall panels are the most tolerant finish because the material does not absorb water and the joints shed it. PVC wallpaper handles humidity and steam but not water running down a wall. Paper wallpaper and ordinary paint will fail in either situation. We will tell you at the survey if we think there is an underlying damp problem.

Can walls and ceilings be done together?

Yes, and doing them in one visit is both cheaper and cleaner — one survey, one set of fitters, one disruption. The sequence matters: ceiling first, then walls, so that panel edges and trims finish neatly against the completed ceiling rather than being cut around it. If you are also having flooring done, that goes last, after all the overhead and wall work is finished. Tell us the whole scope at the survey and we will sequence it properly.

How long does a room take?

A single feature wall in panels is usually a day. Wallpapering a room is one to two days depending on the pattern repeat. A panel ceiling is one to two days. A full room with ceiling and one panelled wall is typically two to three days. None of it involves wet work or curing time, so the room is usable as soon as the fitters leave — which is why this suits occupied homes, running offices and shops that cannot afford to close.

Which finish is easiest to maintain?

PVC panels, on walls and ceilings alike — a damp cloth, no repainting, no sealing, no grout to scrub. After that, scrubbable PVC wallpaper. Fluted and louvered decorative panels look the best but collect dust in the grooves, so they need occasional vacuuming with a brush attachment. Paint is the least durable of the lot in a busy room and typically needs redoing every three to five years.

Do you handle commercial fit-outs?

Yes — offices, retail, hotels, cafes, restaurants, hospitals and institutional buildings. Most of this work is scheduled out of hours or over weekends, because none of these products need wet work or curing and a space can be handed back the same night. That matters more than material cost to a business that would otherwise lose trading days. For fire performance on a commercial specification, ask for the datasheet of the specific product — we do not claim ratings we cannot document.
