Acrylic Sheet

The standard clear sheet. Best optical clarity and gloss, lighter than glass. Signage, displays, glazing, partitions, furniture.

Cast Acrylic Sheet

The premium acrylic grade. Better chemical resistance and machining behaviour, available much thicker. Routing, engraving, fabrication.

Plastic Sheet

Industrial polymers — HDPE, PP, ABS, PET and engineering grades. Functional, tough, machinable, chemical resistant.

Choosing Between Them

If it will be seen, use acrylic. Nothing else in this family gives the same gloss and edge finish. Extruded is the value option; go cast when the piece will be routed, engraved, or is thick.
If it will be worked hard, use an industrial plastic. HDPE and PP for chemical and food environments, ABS where it will be thermoformed or glued, PET where you need clarity plus toughness.
If it must not crack, consider polycarbonate instead. Acrylic is rigid but brittle. For impact-critical glazing and guarding, polycarbonate sheet is the correct material.

What Determines the Price of plastic and acrylic sheets

We do not publish a rate card for plastic and acrylic sheets, because a single per-sq-ft figure would be misleading — the same material can differ several-fold in price depending on the specification. These are the factors that actually move the number, so you can see where your own cost is going and where there is room to save:

Cast or extruded — cast acrylic costs more than extruded of the same thickness — specify it only where the job needs it
Polymer — engineering plastics such as PTFE, POM and nylon sit far above commodity HDPE and PP
Thickness — the dominant driver within any one material
Colour & finish — clear and white are the value options; mirror, fluorescent and special colours carry a premium
Certification — food-contact and flame-retardant grades cost more than general industrial stock
Quantity & cutting — volume helps; complex cutting lists and polished edges add labour

Getting an accurate figure quickly: send the material, thickness, finished sizes and quantity, and say what the sheet has to do. That is enough to quote firmly. If you are still comparing options, ask us for the range across two or three specifications — it is usually cheaper to change the specification than to negotiate the price of the wrong one.

Two practical notes for delivery: full-size sheets need suitable vehicle access, and the usual constraint is not the sheet but the lift dimensions and staircase turns at the other end — tell us the floor and access when ordering. For site deliveries in a housing society or commercial complex, arrange gate entry and unloading help in advance, as large sheets need two people to handle safely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is acrylic the same as plexiglass or perspex?

Yes, in everyday use. Acrylic is the material — chemically PMMA — while Plexiglass and Perspex are brand names for it. In India you will also hear "acrylic glass". All refer to the same base material, though grade and quality vary a lot between manufacturers.

Which plastic sheet is food safe?

HDPE, PP and PET are the usual food-contact materials — hence HDPE chopping boards and PP food-industry tanks. Suitability depends on the specific grade and its certification rather than the polymer family alone, so tell us it is a food application and we will supply the appropriate grade rather than a general industrial one.

Should I use acrylic or a plastic sheet like PVC or ABS?

Acrylic when appearance matters — clarity, gloss, clean edges, as in signage, displays and glazing. An industrial plastic when the sheet is functional rather than visible, needs machining or welding, must resist chemicals, or has to take knocks without cracking. Acrylic is the better-looking material; industrial plastics are tougher and cheaper.

Can these sheets be cut, drilled and bent?

All of them, but by different methods. Acrylic machines cleanly and thermoforms with heat, though it needs the right feed rate to avoid chipping. HDPE and PP machine easily but do not bond well with adhesives and are welded instead. ABS thermoforms and glues readily. Tell us the fabrication planned and we will advise grade and thickness.

How much do plastic and acrylic sheets cost?

We quote per job rather than publishing a rate card, because the specification changes the price several-fold. The main drivers are material and grade, thickness, size and wastage, finish, and quantity. Send the material, thickness, finished sizes and quantity and we will quote firmly, usually the same working day. If you are comparing options, ask for the range across two or three specifications rather than one figure.

What is the minimum order quantity?

For stocked materials we can supply from a single cut piece upward, so there is no barrier to a small job. Non-stocked, imported or specially sourced grades usually carry a minimum set by the manufacturer, often a full sheet or a pack, plus a lead time. We will tell you the minimum and the lead time before you commit rather than after, and will say if a stocked alternative would do the same job sooner and cheaper.

Do you deliver to Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Delhi?

Yes. We supply across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad from our Noida and Faridabad locations, and cut-to-size orders can also be collected. Full-size sheets need suitable vehicle access and two people to handle, and the usual constraint is the lift or staircase at the delivery end rather than the sheet itself, so tell us the floor and access when you order.
