Home Carpets in Delhi NCR — Bedroom & Living Room

Warm underfoot on a cold morning, quiet in a flat with neighbours below, and soft in the two rooms where that matters most. Choose the pile by room, not by colour.

From ₹10/sq ft  |  Free measurement  |  Supplied & fitted across Delhi NCR

Carpet is the one flooring that makes a bedroom feel finished. It is soft underfoot, it absorbs sound so the room is calmer, it insulates against a cold floor in winter, and it cuts the footstep noise your neighbours below hear. The choice that actually matters is not the shade — it is cut pile or loop, and which room it is going in. Get that right and the colour is the easy part.

The Three Types

Bedroom Carpet

Warmth and comfort, and a calm, relaxing environment. Soft textures and neutral shades are typical. Light traffic means a cut pile in a medium weight is right — softness matters more than crush resistance here.

Living Room Carpet

Improves the look of the space and gives everyday comfort, and it copes with moderate foot traffic with ease. A denser cut pile or a textured construction handles the extra use without losing the softness.

Wall-to-Wall Residential

A seamless flooring look with no visible joints, suited to whole-home projects. The floor reads as one surface, which makes rooms feel larger, and it hides a poor subfloor completely.

Cut Pile or Loop — By Room

RoomPileGradeWhy
BedroomCut pileMediumExperienced barefoot; light traffic means softness wins
Living roomDense cut or texturedMedium–heavyModerate traffic, furniture moved about
Hallway, stairsLoop or texturedHeavyConcentrated walking lines — matting shows here first
Kids' roomCut pile, stain resistantMedium–heavySoft to play and fall on; expect spills
Study, home officeLoopMediumChair castors crush a cut pile quickly
Kitchen, bathroom, balconyNoneUse vinyl or SPC instead
The one upgrade worth paying for at home: a heavier grade on the stairs and hallway, and a lighter one in the bedrooms. Traffic in a home is wildly uneven, and a single mid-grade everywhere means you overpay in the bedrooms and still watch the hallway wear out first.

Where Carpet Belongs at Home — and Where It Does Not

Never in kitchens, bathrooms, balconies, or ground-floor rooms with rising damp. Carpet holds moisture, and a carpet that stays damp will smell and eventually harbour mould — no amount of cleaning fixes it. It also struggles in a humid room with no ventilation or air conditioning. For those rooms use vinyl or SPC, which is waterproof and warm enough underfoot.
Dust is manageable, and a doormat does most of the work. The majority of what dirties and wears a home carpet is grit carried in on shoes. A proper entrance mat at the front door does more for your carpet than any upgrade in grade.

Looking After It

  • Vacuum weekly, and more often along the walkways where matting starts
  • Blot spills immediately, from the outside in. Never rub — rubbing drives the stain into the pile and damages the fibre permanently
  • Deep clean annually, more often with pets or small children
  • Do not soak a fitted carpet — water reaching the backing takes days to dry and can leave a smell
  • Use furniture cups under heavy legs so they do not leave permanent dents
  • Rotate rugs occasionally so sunlight fades them evenly

What Determines the Price

  • Face weight and pile density — how much yarn is actually there. The main driver of both feel and lifespan
  • Fibre — wool and nylon at the top, polypropylene at the value end
  • Pile type — a deep cut pile uses more yarn than a low loop
  • Underlay and gripper — worth having; it makes a mid-grade carpet feel better and last longer
  • Room shape — awkward shapes waste broadloom; square rooms cut efficiently
  • Subfloor preparation — carpet shows every lump underneath it

Our carpets start from ₹10 per sq ft — a genuine entry rate for economy material, not a finished fitted price. See the carpets hub for how to read a carpet specification properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which carpet is best for a bedroom?
A cut pile in a medium weight. Bedrooms see light traffic and are experienced barefoot, so softness matters far more than crush resistance, and cut pile is noticeably plusher than loop. It is also the room where a lighter grade is genuinely sensible — you are not walking the same line across it forty times a day. Neutral shades work best because the carpet covers most of the visible floor and you will live with it for a decade.
Is carpet a good idea in an Indian home?
In bedrooms and living rooms, yes — it is warm, quiet and comfortable in a way tile never is, and it makes a room feel finished. Where it does not belong is kitchens, bathrooms, balconies or any ground-floor room with rising damp, and it is a poor choice in a humid room with no ventilation or air conditioning. Dust is manageable with regular vacuuming. The single most useful thing you can do is put a good mat at the front door.
Wall-to-wall or a room-sized carpet?
Wall-to-wall gives a seamless look, makes a room feel larger because the floor reads as one surface, and covers a poor floor completely. It is fitted, so it does not move or curl at the edges. A loose room-sized carpet or rug is cheaper, can be taken to a new home, and can be sent out for cleaning — but it will shift, and the exposed floor around it has to be worth looking at. For whole-home projects, wall-to-wall is usually the better answer.
How do you clean a home carpet?
Vacuum weekly, and more often along the walkways where matting begins. Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth working from the outside in — never rub, because rubbing drives the stain into the pile and damages the fibre permanently. Deep clean once a year, or more often with pets or small children. Avoid soaking a fitted carpet when cleaning: water that reaches the backing takes a long time to dry and can leave a smell.
Does carpet make a room warmer and quieter?
Noticeably so on both counts. Carpet insulates against the floor, which matters in a Delhi winter when tile is genuinely cold underfoot in the morning. It also absorbs sound within the room rather than reflecting it, so a carpeted bedroom is calmer, and it cuts the footstep noise transmitted to the flat below — a real consideration in apartments. It will not stop noise coming through a shared wall.
How much does a home carpet cost?
Our carpets start from ₹10 per sq ft, which is a genuine entry rate for economy material rather than a finished fitted price. What moves it is face weight, fibre and backing, and whether the room needs underlay and gripper. Awkwardly shaped rooms waste more broadloom than square ones. We measure free of charge and quote material and fitting separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Do you supply and fit home carpets across Delhi NCR?
Yes — bedrooms, living rooms and whole-home projects across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad from our Noida and Faridabad locations. Free on-site measurement, guidance on choosing the right carpet for each room, and fitting by our own team. Most rooms are measured, ordered and fitted without you needing to move out.
