3D wallpaper creates depth through printing — shading, perspective and high-resolution photography on a flat surface. Done well on the right wall it is genuinely convincing and transforms a room for a fraction of what panelling costs. Done on the wrong wall it looks like a printed poster, and the reason is almost always the same: viewing distance. That is the part showroom samples never tell you.

The Rule Nobody Mentions: Viewing Distance

3D wallpaper is an illusion, and illusions need distance to work. The printed shadows read as depth when you view the wall from two or three metres back — across a living room, from a bed, from a dining table. Stand within a metre and your eyes resolve it as a flat printed surface, because the shadows do not move as you move.

That means it belongs on a wall you look at from across the room: behind a sofa, behind a bed, a dining feature wall, a reception wall viewed from the entrance. It works far less well in a narrow corridor or a small bathroom, where everyone passes within arm's reach. For those, real texture — decorative panels — holds up where print does not.

Types We Supply

Brick & Stone Effect

The most convincing category, because the eye already expects shadow between bricks. Works well on exposed-look feature walls and cafe interiors.

Geometric & Abstract

Repeating shapes with printed shading — hexagons, diamonds, waves. Bold from a distance, and forgiving on pattern matching.

Custom Photo Murals

Printed to your wall's exact dimensions from a chosen image — landscape, cityscape, forest, artwork. One continuous image, so no repeat and no pattern matching.

Panel-Look & Moulding Effect

Printed wainscoting, mouldings and slat effects — a classical look without carpentry.

Floral & Botanical

Large-scale florals with depth shading. Popular for bedrooms and boutique interiors.

Kids' Themes

Character, space and jungle murals. Worth knowing: children outgrow these faster than the wallpaper wears out.

Which Walls It Can Go On

Wallpaper is the worst possible finish for a damp wall. The adhesive stays wet, the paper bubbles and peels at the edges within weeks, and mould grows in the dark layer between paper and plaster. If a wall has ever shown a damp patch, deal with the source first — our guide to damp walls and seepage covers how, and how to test whether the wall is dry enough yet.
Wall conditionVerdict
Smooth, sound, well-cured paint or plasterIdeal
Freshly painted or plasteredWait — typically two to four weeks to cure first
Textured or rough finishNo — the texture shows through and adhesion fails
Chalky, flaking or distemperNo — the paper will hold better than the paint does
Any history of damp or seepageNo — fix the source, dry the wall, then reconsider
Bathroom or kitchen splash zoneUse a washable PVC grade, kept clear of direct water

How Much to Order

  1. Measure the wall width and height including above and below any window or door on that wall
  2. For a custom mural, that is all we need — it is printed to size as numbered drops, with no repeat and no matching
  3. For roll designs, work out how many drops fit across the wall, then how many drops come from each roll based on wall height
  4. Add for the pattern repeat. A large repeat means cutting away material to align the design at each seam — this can add meaningfully to the quantity
  5. Always order one roll spare, from the same batch. Shade varies between production runs, so a roll bought later will not match — and a damaged drop with no spare means redoing the wall
Custom murals avoid the whole quantity problem and often work out comparable in cost on a single feature wall, because there is no repeat wastage. They also let the image be composed for the wall — so the focal point sits where you actually look, rather than wherever the roll happens to land.

3D Wallpaper or 3D Wall Panels?

The honest comparison: wallpaper gives you a printed illusion of depth cheaply and quickly, and can be changed in a day. Panels give real physical texture that catches light and shadow properly, survive being touched, and cost more. If the wall is at eye level in a corridor, or people will run their hands over it, panels win. If it is a feature wall viewed from a distance and you may want to change it in a few years, wallpaper wins. Full comparison: 3D wall panels vs 3D wallpaper. What Determines the Price of 3D Wallpaper

Quoted per wall rather than from a rate card, because two walls of the same size can differ substantially. The drivers:

  • Material and backing — the biggest factor. Economy PVC-coated at one end, premium non-woven and textured grades at the other
  • Roll design or custom mural — murals are printed to size and priced by area; roll designs by roll
  • Pattern repeat — a large repeat wastes material at every seam to keep the design aligned, and that waste is real cost
  • Wall area — and the shape, since windows and doors create offcuts you still pay for
  • Wall preparation — filling, sanding and priming a poor wall, which is quoted separately and is sometimes the larger part
  • Installation — supply-only versus fitted; pattern matching across a wide wall takes longer than a plain mural
  • Height and access — double-height and stairwell walls need equipment
  • Removing old wallpaper — stripping and making good, quoted separately
Where to spend: the wall preparation and the installation. Wallpaper is unforgiving of a bad surface and of amateur fitting — bubbles, lifted seams and mismatched patterns are all fitting faults, not material faults, and they are what people notice. Where to save: choose a smaller pattern repeat, which cuts wastage without changing the look from a distance.

Supply Across Delhi NCR

We supply and install 3D wallpaper from Noida (U.P.) and Faridabad (Haryana), covering Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad — homes, offices, cafes, salons, clinics and retail.

Send a photo of the wall along with its width and height. The photo matters: it shows us the surface condition, the viewing distance and where the light falls, which together decide whether the design you have chosen will actually read as 3D in that room.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does 3D wallpaper actually look three-dimensional?
From a distance, yes - convincingly so. The depth comes from printed shading and perspective, and it reads properly when you view the wall from two or three metres back, which is how you see a wall behind a sofa or a bed. Up close within a metre the illusion flattens, because the shadows do not shift as you move. So it belongs on a feature wall viewed from across the room rather than in a narrow corridor.
Where should 3D wallpaper not be used?
Narrow corridors and small bathrooms, where everyone passes within arm's reach and the printed illusion flattens out. Also any wall with a history of damp or seepage, any textured or rough finish, and chalky or flaking paint. Fresh paint and plaster need two to four weeks to cure first. On those walls real texture such as decorative panels performs where print does not.
How many rolls of 3D wallpaper do I need?
It depends on wall width and height and on the pattern repeat. Work out how many drops fit across the wall, how many drops each roll yields at your wall height, then add for repeat matching - a large repeat means cutting away material at every seam to align the design. Always order one spare roll from the same batch, since shade varies between production runs and a later roll will not match.
Is a custom mural better than roll wallpaper?
For a single feature wall, often yes. A mural is printed to your exact wall dimensions as numbered drops, so there is no pattern repeat and no matching wastage - which frequently makes it comparable in cost despite the bespoke printing. It also lets the image be composed for the wall, so the focal point sits where you actually look rather than wherever a roll happens to land.
Can 3D wallpaper be used in a bathroom or kitchen?
Only in a washable PVC grade, and kept well clear of direct water and splash zones. Even then, humidity is the enemy of any wallpaper adhesive over time. If the wall gets wet or steamy, PVC wall panels or a wipeable finish will outlast wallpaper considerably - and if the wall has ever shown damp, wallpaper is the wrong choice regardless of grade.
How long does 3D wallpaper last?
On a sound dry wall, with good material and proper installation, several years - typically longer than people keep the same design. What shortens it is almost never wear: it is a damp wall, a poorly prepared surface, or fitting faults such as lifted seams. Direct strong sunlight will also fade a printed design over time, so a wall taking harsh afternoon sun benefits from blinds or curtains.
How much does it cost, and do you install across Delhi NCR?
Quoted per wall, because material grade, roll versus custom mural, pattern repeat, wall area and shape, wall preparation and installation all move the figure. Send a photo of the wall with its width and height - the photo shows us the surface condition and viewing distance, which affect both the quote and whether your chosen design will work. We supply and install across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad.

Send a Photo of the Wall

Width, height, and a photo taken from where you normally sit or stand. We'll tell you honestly whether the design will read as 3D from that distance — and whether the wall is ready for wallpaper at all.

Roll sizes, materials, finishes and pattern repeats described here are the options commonly available in the Indian market and are general guidance, not a stock list or quotation. Adhesion and longevity depend on the condition of the wall, particularly its dryness and the age and quality of existing paint, which can only be assessed on site. Wallpaper is not suitable for walls with active damp or seepage.
