All Five Types Compared
| Type | Best For | Light Control | Wet Areas | Wide Spans |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vertical | Sliding doors, balcony doors, very wide windows | Rotate slats, draw to one side | PVC slats yes | Best |
| Zebra | Living rooms, studies, offices — varying light through the day | Best — slide bands from sheer to opaque | Limited | Split above ~6–7 ft |
| Roller | Regular windows, bedrooms, minimal look | Up or down; depends on fabric opacity | Wipeable fabrics yes | Split above ~6–7 ft |
| Wooden | Living rooms, studies, bedrooms — warm premium look | Tilt slats precisely | Faux wood only | Splits earliest — slats are heavy |
| PVC | Kitchens, bathrooms, utility areas | Tilt slats precisely | Best | Moderate |
Width limits are practical guidance, not fixed specifications — the exact maximum depends on the fabric, tube and mechanism. We confirm it for your chosen product at measurement.
Decision 1 — Inside or Outside Mount
Inside Mount
Sits within the recess. Neat, built-in look, sill stays usable. Needs enough frame depth for the mechanism, leaves small light gaps at the edges, and is unforgiving if the recess is out of square.
Outside Mount
Covers the whole frame. Better light blocking with no edge gaps, hides an uneven or damaged frame, makes a small window look larger, and works where the recess is too shallow.
Decision 2 — Operating Mechanism
| Mechanism | Suits | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Chain / cord | Standard windows, the economical baseline | Looped cord — use a cord cleat, and avoid in children's rooms |
| Spring / cordless | Children's rooms, clean minimal look | No loop, so no cord hazard |
| Wand control | Vertical blinds | Rotate and draw without a loose cord |
| Motorised — remote | High windows, wide or heavy blinds | Needs a power point planned near the window |
| Motorised — app / voice | Multiple windows operated together, smart homes | Group control and scheduling; check Wi-Fi coverage at the window |

Care & Cleaning
- Dust weekly with a soft brush or vacuum brush attachment. Dust is what ages a blind visually, and slats show it more than fabric.
- Wipe PVC and faux wood slats with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Never soak real wooden blinds — damp cloth only, dried immediately.
- Spot-clean fabric rollers and zebras gently. Aggressive rubbing marks the coating on blackout fabrics permanently.
- Do not force a stuck blind. A chain that jams is usually a mechanism issue; forcing it turns a small repair into a replacement.
- Operate from the centre of the bottom rail rather than one end, which keeps the blind running square on its tube.
What Determines the Price of Blinds
We quote per window rather than publishing a rate card, because the same window varies substantially by specification. The drivers:
- Type — PVC and basic roller are the economical end; real wooden blinds and premium zebra fabrics are considerably more
- Fabric or slat material — the biggest factor within any one type; basswood versus faux wood, or a designer zebra fabric versus a plain, are different brackets
- Window area — priced largely by size, with very small blinds carrying a minimum charge because fabrication time does not scale down
- Opacity — blackout fabrics cost more than translucent, and sunscreen fabrics are priced by their openness factor
- Mechanism — chain is the baseline; cordless, cassette and motorised each add cost, and motorisation is the largest single jump
- Cassette or valance — a covered head rail looks more finished than an exposed tube and costs more
- Splitting wide windows — two units on one window cost more than one, but are often the only workable option above about 6–7 ft
- Number of windows — cost per window falls as measurement and installation time spreads across the order
Supply Across Delhi NCR
We measure, supply and install blinds from Noida (U.P.) and Faridabad (Haryana), covering Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad. Because blinds are cut to order, the sequence is a free site measurement first, then manufacture, then installation — we do not quote firm sizes from a phone description.
For society and commercial buildings, please arrange gate entry and lift access in advance and tell us the floor when booking. Long blind units need clear access through lifts and stairwell turns.
