Vertical Blinds in Delhi NCR

The answer for sliding doors, balcony doors and very wide windows — 89 mm or 127 mm slats in fabric or PVC, drawing sideways so you can clear just the panel you walk through.

Handles wide spans in one unit  |  Fabric or PVC slats  |  Free measurement

Vertical blinds do one thing no other blind does comfortably: cover a very wide opening in a single unit, and open sideways so you can walk through it. That is why they dominate balcony doors and sliding doors in Indian apartments, and why they remain the default across office floor plates. Roller and zebra blinds have to be split into two above roughly 6–7 ft; a vertical simply runs the full width.

Where Vertical Blinds Win

89 mm or 127 mm?

89 mm (3.5 in)

Finer, more detailed look. Suits smaller windows, office cabins and rooms where the blind should read as texture rather than as panels.

127 mm (5 in)

Cleaner and less busy across a very wide opening, and fewer slats to clean. The usual choice for balcony doors and full-height glazing.

Both give identical light control — the choice is purely visual. As a rule, the wider the opening, the more a 127 mm slat helps: on a 12 ft balcony door, 89 mm slats can look restless.

Three Details to Get Right Before Ordering

  1. Stack side. Decide left, right or centre-split now — the mechanism is built for it and cannot be reversed later. On a sliding door, always stack away from the panel you walk through.
  2. Floor clearance. About ½ in. Too much and light spills along the floor; too little and the slats drag, catch and distort at the bottom — which happens fast on a door used daily.
  3. Track fixing. Wall or ceiling. On full-height glazing there is often no wall above the glass, so a ceiling fix is the only option — and it needs to be established before manufacture, not on installation day.
Give raw recess measurements and let us deduct the clearance. If you deduct as well, the blind comes out too narrow with a permanent light gap. And on a door-height blind, measure the drop at both ends — Indian floors are rarely perfectly level, and a slat run that clears at one end can drag at the other.

Care

  • Vacuum fabric slats with a brush attachment, top to bottom, monthly.
  • Wipe PVC slats with a damp cloth and mild detergent — the main reason PVC suits kitchens.
  • Check the bottom chain and weights occasionally; a detached weight lets a slat swing out of line.
  • Rotate slats fully closed before drawing the blind sideways. Dragging half-open slats is what bends the top hangers.
  • Replace individual damaged slats rather than the whole blind — one of the practical advantages of this type. Keep a couple of spares from the original batch, since colours shift between runs.

What Determines the Price of Vertical Blinds

We quote per opening rather than publishing a rate card. The drivers:

  • Slat material — the biggest factor. PVC is the economical option; textured, dim-out and blackout fabrics cost more
  • Total area — a balcony door run uses several times the material of a window
  • Slat width — 127 mm generally needs fewer slats and less hardware than 89 mm across the same opening
  • Track length and quality — long runs need a heavier track; on wide openings this is a real part of the cost and the part that determines whether operation stays smooth
  • Mechanism — chain and cord is the baseline; wand control and motorisation add cost, and motorisation needs power planned at the track
  • Stack configuration — a centre-split run needs more hardware than a single-direction stack
  • Number of openings — cost per opening falls as measurement and installation time spreads
Where not to save: the track. On a wide door the track carries real weight every time the blind is drawn, and a light track on a 12 ft opening is the single most common cause of a vertical blind that sags, sticks or drops slats within a year.

Supply Across Delhi NCR

We measure, supply and install vertical blinds from Noida (U.P.) and Faridabad (Haryana), covering Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad — apartments, villas, offices and showrooms.

Door-height and full-height glazing blinds are long units. Please arrange gate entry and lift access in advance and tell us the floor when booking, as track lengths for wide openings need clear access through lifts and stairwell turns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are vertical blinds best for sliding doors?
They draw sideways rather than lifting, which suits a wide opening and lets you clear just the panel you walk through. They also handle very wide spans in a single unit, where roller and zebra blinds must be split above roughly 6 to 7 feet. The slats hang from a top track and stack to one side or split to both, so you can open a doorway without disturbing the rest of the run.
What slat widths do vertical blinds come in?
Two standards in the Indian market: 89 mm (three and a half inches) and 127 mm (five inches). The 89 mm slat gives a finer, more detailed look and suits smaller windows and offices; 127 mm reads cleaner across a very wide opening such as a balcony door and has fewer slats to clean. Both give identical light control — the choice is visual.
Should vertical blind slats be fabric or PVC?
Fabric looks softer and warmer and suits living rooms, bedrooms and offices. PVC is unaffected by moisture, wipes clean and is right for kitchens, utility areas, balcony doors exposed to rain and anywhere slats get handled often. PVC is also generally more economical; fabric offers a wider range of textures and colours.
How much floor clearance should vertical blinds have?
About half an inch. Too much gap looks unfinished and lets light spill along the floor; too little and the slats catch, drag and distort at the bottom. On a balcony or sliding door this matters more than on a window, because the slats are long and any snagging repeats every time the door is used — one reason we recommend a site measurement for door-height blinds.
Which side do vertical blinds stack on?
You choose — left, right, or split to both sides from centre. Decide before ordering, because the mechanism is built for the stack direction and cannot be reversed later. On a sliding door, stack away from the panel you actually walk through so the blind never sits in front of the operating panel. On a window, stack towards the side you use least.
How much do vertical blinds cost?
We quote per opening, because slat material, total area, slat width, track length, mechanism and stack configuration all move the figure. A balcony door run is several times the material of a window. Send the opening sizes and a photo, or book a free measurement, and we will quote firmly with slats, track and installation as separate lines.
What is the minimum order, and do you install in Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Delhi?
No minimum — a single opening is fine, though cost per opening falls across a larger order. We measure and install across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad from our Noida and Faridabad locations. For door-height units please arrange gate entry and lift access in advance and tell us the floor, as long tracks need clear access.

Measuring a Sliding Door or Wide Window?

Send the opening width and height with a photo, or book a free measurement. We'll confirm slat width, stack side, track fixing and floor clearance — the four things that decide whether it works properly.

Slat widths, materials, mechanisms and span capability described here are the options commonly available in the Indian market and are general guidance, not a stock list or quotation. Maximum single-unit width depends on the track and mechanism supplied and is confirmed at measurement. Made-to-measure blinds are cut to order and cannot be resized or returned.
