Roller Blinds in Delhi NCR

The simplest, most versatile blind — blackout for bedrooms, sunscreen for screen glare, wipeable for kitchens. Cassette or open roll, chain, spring or motorised.

Flat minimal look  |  Blackout to sunscreen  |  Free measurement

A roller blind is one flat piece of fabric on a tube, and almost everything about how it performs comes down to which fabric you choose. The same blind can black out a bedroom, kill screen glare in a study while keeping the view, or wipe clean in a kitchen. That is why the fabric section below is longer than the hardware section — it is the decision that matters.

Fabric Decides Everything

FabricWhat It DoesBest For
BlackoutBlocks essentially all light through the clothBedrooms, kids' rooms, media rooms, day sleepers
Dim-outHeavily reduces light without total darknessLiving rooms, guest rooms, offices
TranslucentDiffuses daylight, gives privacy, no view outBathrooms, street-facing windows, stairwells
Sunscreen (mesh)Cuts glare and heat while keeping the viewHome offices, studies, balcony-facing rooms
Wipeable / coatedSponges clean of grease and splashesKitchens, utility areas, cafeterias

Sunscreen Openness Factor — The Number Nobody Explains

Sunscreen fabrics are rated by openness factor: the percentage of the fabric that is open weave. It decides the trade-off between view and glare control, and it is the single most useful spec on this page:

OpennessGlare & PrivacyView OutChoose For
1%Most glare cut, best privacyLeast viewHarsh west sun, ground-floor privacy
3%Strong glare controlGoodHome offices, screen work
5%BalancedVery goodLiving rooms keeping the view
10%Least glare cutClearest viewShaded windows, view is the priority
For screen work, 3–5% is the usual sweet spot. And one honest caveat about all sunscreen fabrics: they work in one direction. During the day you see out and passers-by see little; after dark with the lights on, that reverses. If night privacy matters on that window, pair the sunscreen with a curtain or choose a dim-out fabric instead.

Getting Real Blackout From a Roller Blind

Blackout fabric and a blackout room are not the same thing. An inside-mount blind must be slightly narrower than the recess to run freely, so a thin outline of light down each side is normal and cannot be eliminated. To get close to full darkness:

  • Outside mount with 3–4 inches of overlap on each side and above the frame — the cheapest way to kill edge light
  • Or inside mount plus a curtain over it — the combination that actually darkens a bedroom
  • Take the drop below the sill rather than stopping level with it
  • Choose a cassette, which closes the gap at the top where light spills over the roll

Care

  • Dust with a soft brush or vacuum attachment with the blind fully lowered, working top to bottom.
  • Wipeable fabrics sponge clean with mild detergent — the reason to specify them for a kitchen.
  • Blackout fabrics: spot clean only, gently. Hard rubbing damages the coating permanently and it shows as a shiny patch.
  • Sunscreen mesh: vacuum only. Do not scrub — the weave distorts and will not recover.
  • Roll it up dry. Storing a damp blind rolled causes marks along the fabric that do not come out.
  • Operate from the centre of the bottom rail so the fabric tracks square on the tube.

What Determines the Price of Roller Blinds

We quote per window rather than publishing a rate card. The drivers:

  • Fabric — the biggest factor. Plain translucent is the value end; blackout, designer prints and technical sunscreen fabrics cost more
  • Openness factor on sunscreens — tighter weaves generally cost more than open ones
  • Window area — priced largely by size, with small blinds carrying a minimum because fabrication time does not scale down
  • Cassette or open roll — a covered aluminium cassette costs more and looks considerably better at eye level
  • Mechanism — chain is the baseline, spring/cordless costs more, motorisation is the largest jump and needs power at the window
  • Bottom rail finish — a fabric-wrapped bar costs more than a plain aluminium one
  • Splitting a wide window — two units above about 6–7 ft
  • Number of windows — cost per window falls as measurement and installation time spreads
The cheapest useful upgrade on a roller blind is almost always the fabric, not the hardware — moving from a generic blackout to a properly specified sunscreen changes how a room works far more than a cassette does. The exception is a window at eye level, where the cassette is what makes it look finished.

Supply Across Delhi NCR

We measure, supply and install roller blinds from Noida (U.P.) and Faridabad (Haryana), covering Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad. We check recess depth and confirm chain side at measurement, because both are fixed at manufacture.

For society and commercial buildings, please arrange gate entry and lift access in advance and tell us the floor when booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a sunscreen roller blind and what does openness factor mean?
A sunscreen blind uses a mesh fabric that blocks glare and heat while letting you see out — ideal for home offices and rooms where you do not want to lose the view. Openness factor is the percentage of the fabric that is open weave: 1% is very tight, cutting the most glare and giving the most privacy but the least view, while 10% keeps the clearest view and cuts the least glare. For screen work, 3–5% is the usual sweet spot.
Do blackout roller blinds block all light?
The fabric blocks essentially all light, but light still enters around the edges. On an inside mount there is always a small side gap so the blind can run freely, so a thin outline of light is normal. For closer to full darkness, use an outside mount that overlaps the frame, or fit inside the recess and add a curtain over it. For a bedroom needing total darkness, blind plus lined curtain is the combination that works.
What is the difference between a cassette and an open roll roller blind?
An open roll leaves the fabric roll and brackets visible at the top — the economical option, fine where the head sits above eye level or inside a deep recess. A cassette encloses the roll in an aluminium head rail for a cleaner line and keeps dust off the roll. On a window at eye level in a well-finished room, the cassette is usually worth the difference.
How wide can a roller blind be?
Usually kept to around 6 to 7 feet in a single unit. Beyond that the fabric and tube get heavy to lift, the tube can deflect visibly in the middle and the blind tends to run out of square. Wider windows are better as two units side by side, or with vertical blinds which cover very wide spans in one. The exact limit depends on fabric weight and tube diameter.
Can roller blinds be used in a kitchen?
Yes, with a wipeable fabric rather than a textile one. Coated and PVC-backed roller fabrics sponge clean of cooking grease and splashes, making them a good flat-look alternative to slatted PVC blinds. Keep any blind well clear of the hob, and avoid open-weave sunscreen fabrics in a kitchen — grease settles into the mesh and cannot be cleaned out.
How much do roller blinds cost?
We quote per window, because fabric type, openness factor, window area, cassette choice, mechanism and bottom rail finish all move the figure. Send window sizes and a photo, or book a free measurement, and we will quote firmly. Tell us what the room is used for and we will recommend the fabric before the hardware — it makes more difference.
What is the minimum order, and do you install in Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Delhi?
No minimum — a single window is fine, though small blinds carry a minimum charge as fabrication time does not scale down, and cost per window falls across a larger order. We measure and install across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad from our Noida and Faridabad locations. Please arrange gate entry and lift access in advance.

Bedroom blackout, office sunscreen at the right openness, wipeable for a kitchen — the fabric decides how the room works. Free measurement across Delhi NCR with samples to see in your own light.

Fabrics, openness factors, mechanisms and width limits described here are the options commonly available in the Indian market and are general guidance, not a stock list or quotation. Maximum single-unit width depends on the fabric and tube supplied and is confirmed at measurement. Made-to-measure blinds are cut to order and cannot be resized or returned.
